Strengthening family protection, empowerment and equal opportunities for children in Uganda

Eagles Youth Development Initiative, (EYDI) is a non-profit making organization that was founded by a young people in 2002. It is fully registered community based organization. (Reg.No. WCBO/058/08) committed to empowerment of young people in Uganda. We are located 32 km northeast Kampala along Kampala –Gayaza- Zirobwe road(Kiwenda trading centre), Busukuma Division Wakiso District.

We believe every girl is born empowered. Together, we can disassemble the structures that prevent a girl from exercising that power, leaving her without an education, vulnerable to violence, and lacking access to opportunities. We invest in girls because they deserve better.

In Uganda most girls, simply being young and female put them at the very bottom of the social pyramid; race, class, sexual orientation, gender identity, ability and other factors can deepen their marginalization. The consequences are worsens in rural areas. While the specifics vary by geography, the overall picture is the same: individual potential is unrealized while systemic cycles of inequality persist.

According to EYDI intervention believe that if girls rights are fully realized, girls positively impact both their own lives and entire communities, transforming structures of poverty and inequity in ways that benefit everyone.

Therefore we are calling upon development partners, well-wisher, families to support the girl-child empowerment interventions  through donation, grants, membership subscription and volunteering with EYDI.
