ICT FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

Am Nabisubi Rehema aged 25 years completed a Diploma in Business Management at YWA-Kampala in 2011 failed to get a job until, I was advised by Mr. Musoke .S. Twahah(Executive Director) to join Eagles Youth Development Group for hands on computer training.
After 4 months of Computer training, leadership, entrepreneurship mentoring and coaching, we were awarded certificates, We (Nabisubi Rehema, Nabbosa Deborah, Masakate Hakim, Ntege Wilberforce, Nakimbugwe Juliet among others) were advised by the Executive Director mentioned above to apply for Jobs advertised by National Security and information System project(National ID Project) under Ministry of Internal Affairs and all of us succeeded and we were recruited in Wakiso District, Busukuma Sub County as Enrolment Officers for a period of 4 Months and currently am working Store officer with Mairye Estates Ltd using a computerized store ledger books. I wish to acknowledge support rendered to youth through various project implemented by the mentioned organization for child protection, gender based violence prevention special recognition goes to the  computer training component for providing computer skill relevant to the job market. My name is Masakate Hakim aged 16 years, I recently went back to school after dropping out of school one year ago and I was elected General secretary on Kiwenda Parish Youth Council.

All this comes as result of attending community out reaches organized by Eagles Youth Development group in 2010 and listening to Rock point 256.



I went a head to read the Rock point comic books of different volumes; I realized that I needed to check on the friend I associated with so that I do not take alcohol, having multiple sexual partners and something for something which put me at risk of contracting HIV and planned pregnancies.



I discovered the rock in me and formed a youth club in Nazalesi;

We appreciate the efforts by Eagles Youth Development by supporting us with foot ball kits.



I was interview by community program Journalist from Maama FM which I never thought of in my life. I believe taking better practices can change my image and open opportunities for me.



I wish to thank YEAH for what they are doing to produce challenging, educative and informative materials which empower us to change our behavior positive that is to say young empowered

and healthy is reality.





After the ICT training at Eagles Youth Development Group ICT training Facility, I got a Certificate in Computer Application.Also, we were encouraged by the Executive Director. Mr. Musoke Twahah to apply for National wide employment opportunities Under National Identity Card Project Phase 1. I and other 20 of my collegues who trained with center managed to pass the Interviews, were recruited as Enrolment Officer in Wakiso District at difference Enrolment Centers.



Through the above project have acquire a small piece of land and to complement with other earning am constructing house, So I wish to appreciate the management and staff of Eagles Youth for tireless effort to change the lives of young people.

  Sanitation related loss of productivity, such as missed workdays, costs some countries over 6% of their gross domestic product (GDP), thereby costing individual countries billions of dollars each year.
