25 YEARS WITHOUT STUDY TOUR-BUSSI ISLAND

I am Onyaaka Steven,13 years in Primary Seven (P.7) St. Mark Bulenge Primary School, Bussi Island-Uganda.

I send my greetings to all directors of Eagles Youth Development Initiative through Bussi Island cluster project  most especially Mr. Musoke Twaha for his support to our school.

He encouraged our Head teacher and the staff to organize an Education trip for learners far way back in 2017 as he visited our school.
Am happy this dream was achieved on 24thjuly 2019, St. Mark Primary School had spent 25 years without any Education Tour for Learners yet it is located in Wakiso District, Central Uganda.

He as well created time to empower parents school management committee, parents and guardians about the benefits of education trip and it`s values to us as learners during the parents meetings.

In the education trip, we learnt many things but also we thank him for the camera that helped us to take photos that will remain historical record for us and the school.

God bless you in your work as you help other children who need help.

PERIOD PRIDE FOR ALL

  Eagles Youth Development Initiative was formed in 2002 by a group of young people  and  is a registered non -profit making organization, committed to empower  children,  adolescents and women in Uganda to  improve access to menstrual health education and products, sanitation and hygiene facilities among others. The year 2022, we  launched" The Period Pride campaign "  aims to support 10,000 girls and young women in hard to reach areas like Bussi Island, Uganda  with reusable pads, menstrual education and information.  Many  girls and women  in rural areas  do have limited access to hygienic menstrual products and poor sanitation infrastructure undermining the education opportunities, health and their social status thus limiting them to reach their full potential.   The are no  schools  based funded  or  underfunded menstrual  health education programs . ‎ Therefore,  we are mobilizing resources to save girls and young women on the Island for better tomorrow. Grants and Fundraising Intern

In this role you will be serving the EYDI resource mobilization team by assisting with fundraising and development efforts through grant writing, written proposal and identifying key donors.
